The Innokin iTaste VV Version 3: First Impressions

ITaste V3 Chrome
“Oh bliss! Bliss and heaven! Oh, it was gorgeousness and gorgeousity made flesh. It was like a bird of rarest-spun heaven metal or like silvery wine flowing in a spaceship, gravity all nonsense now. As I slooshied, I knew such lovely pictures!”
— A Clockwork Orange: Alex describes Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony

Innokin’s iTaste VV, otherwise known simply as the iTaste, started as a revolutionary device, employing a modular magnet-based connector to permit the user to connect an armada of different atomizing solutions to a compact but robust variable-voltage battery to create a slim and stylish personal vaporizer setup.

With the Version 2, the connector was revised to the 510 standard, providing greater reliability and durability.

Now Innokin has released the Version 3, and the iTaste has matured even further into a powerful and compact PV with greater standardization and more features than ever before.

The Device I’m Using:
I got my iTaste V3 from the fine folks at Mountain Oak Vapors as part of a complete kit that contained the battery, a manual, a USB charger with AC adapter and five Innokin iClear16 clearomizers.

The juices I tested this device with likewise came from MOV — Heavenly 7 and Red Drop, both 24mg strength.

And now to the feature updates! Allons-y!

Battery Life & Charging:
The iTaste V3 packs the same 800mAh capacity and charge indicators — Green LED for full or nearly-full power, Yellow for 2/3rds capacity and Red for 1/3 battery life remaining — as its predecessors, so there are no surprises here. What has been updated and standardized here is the charging port. Gone is the low-tech cellular phone style pinhole charging port, replaced by micro-USB.

Connector:
Those who have wanted to use popular eGo-threaded accessories such as the KangerTech EVOD are now in luck. Additionally, for KangerTech Protank users, you will find that your eGo cone ring will now fit, giving your iTaste-and-Protank solution a cleaner, more streamlined look and a more structurally secure connection.

Variable Power:
Perhaps the single most substantial update to the iTaste is the addition of Variable Wattage (otherwise called Variable Power.)

Variable Wattage vaping is to Variable Voltage vaping as Variable Voltage was to fixed voltage. Dial in the amount of power you want to deliver to your atomizer and forget. No longer is voltage adjustment mandatory when you change from an atomizing device of one resistance to a device of a different resistance. This allows you to find the wattage that gives you the best flavor, throat hit and vapor to suit your tastes based on the juice you’re vaping rather than the device you’re vaping it in. Select the power and let the iTaste handle the rest. Dial up the power for a warmer, stronger vape, ease it down for cooler and smoother tastes.

And that’s the quick and simple on the iTaste Version 3 from Innokin. You can get the kit for yourself from Mountain Oak Vapors’ iTaste V3 ordering page for $59.99 plus shipping.

I’ll be providing separate reviews for the iClear16 clearomizers and for the juices I ordered with this kit in future posts.

Until next time, please remember to support this blog; do good work, and be good to yourselves and each other.
